"Let food be their medicine and health education be their food"
Our Mission
Our mission is to teach local young people the power of gardening, pair youth with experienced gardeners to learn how to create backyard gardens and help youth to assist members of their community with building their own gardens.
Our Vision
To train youth to create and sustain backyard gardens in their own neighborhood.
Your fruits and vegetables
There is nothing more pleasing or rewarding than harvesting home-grown salad, herbs, fruit or vegetables from your own garden. And, no matter what space you have, from a single container to an entire patch, you can grow your own unbelievably fresh food with fantastic flavor.
**YOUTH EMPOWERMENT**
At The Acre
YEP Youth Empowerment Program
Youth will learn about success habits to improve their functional skills abilities.
Healthier food
Growing your own food has many health benefits:
-
It helps you eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.
-
You decide what kinds of fertilizers and pesticides come in contact with your food.
-
It lets you control when to harvest your food. Vegetables that ripen in the garden have more nutrients than some store-bought vegetables that must be picked early.
